Living Above Par
David Kadalie, in his Leaders Resource Kit (2008) sites that, "For those in leadership, it is imperative to be motivated by a deep sense of call....This sense of call defines their leadership experience.

Too often, we find people who are contented with:
- Doing the bare minimum, yet demanding maximum benefit
- Living a life of mediocrity and under-achieving
- Living aimlessly with no purpose in life
- Being self-centered and largely motivated by status and prestige
- Being concerned about their own security but not caring about the needs of those around them

Mentorship
Mentorship is allowing a young man drive in your stead. The tid bits you offer while on the highway. The choices you observe them make and the alternative thought-out decisions you offer.
It is an opportunity to see them rise into usefulness. It is also an opportunity to give you time to process bigger and better solutions and mental processes to preferable actions other than manipulating a vehicle.
True mentors know when to disengage and engage their mentees into action.

Autobiography In Five Short Chapters -
Chapter I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost… I am hopeless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost… I am hopeless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in… it’s a habit… but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

I see it there.
I still fall in… it’s a habit… but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.

I get out immediately.
Chapter IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

I walk around it.
Chapter V
I walk down another street.

Everything Else Is Just Body
"Again, I think of it this way: if Christ is the head of his body, then everything else is just body, including the pastor, and therefore the pastor needs what the body has been designed to deliver." - Paul D Tripp
I agree with that! What God feeds the Pastor to feed the congregation is not for the good of the group and not him but for the mutual good of the body. The preacher is a part of the body. He needs the fellowship in the body, the building up within the body.
All the parts of the human body work for the mutual good of the entire body. They inter-depend, inter-relate and contribute for each other.
Thus the importance of 1Corinthians 12:14-25
Let us seek to be an important member of the body, as you feed on the word it is good for you as it is good for the rest of the church members! You need what the body has been designed to deliver.
